Diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), also known as AdBlue, is a consumable fluid used in selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems to control nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from diesel engines. DEF is a solution of urea and deionized water, typically 32.5% urea by weight.
